Group Rules

:bulletgreen: This is a group for fairy tales not Disney/Bluth/Burton or Wicked fanart . There are plenty of Disney groups out there to showcase your talent.

:bulletblue: We don't accept mythology either; so all biblical people, Greek gods, and such are not going to be accepted here. We're a Fairy Tale group (Grimm, Andersen, Perrault, etc)

:bulletorange: Art that is submitted must be appropriate . This is a Fairy Tales group, which means although it does not need to be childrens themed, it is coming from the stories we knew as kids. These images should not be trampled on.

:bulletred: When you submit art you must make sure that it is applicable to the group's theme (just look at the name!) and it must be submitted to the correct folder . With the size of this group, a lot of time is dedicated by the admins to make sure the art is in the right spots

:bulletyellow: In regards to fairy tale landscapes - if it's specific to a fairy tale then it's ok... we want all the art/lit we receive to be specific to a fairy tale... example - we accept "The Little Mermaid" (not disney's) but we don't accept just any mermaid art out there... it must be of the little mermaid, or some other famous fairy tale

:bulletpurple: If we cannot automatically tell what fairytale your piece is from, you must say what it is in your description. If not it will be treated as either general fantasy or unrelated to this group- which means automatic decline or expiration (we reserve the right to give or hold explinations

:bulletblack: We reserve the right to have final say on any piece. While we love people defending their pieces or asking for explinations (mistakes do happen), it does not necessarily mean we will change our stance.

MOST IMPORTANT: You must submit your piece to the correct folder. The Featured Folder is only if there is not a folder already for you, or if your pieces encompasses many pieces of many fairytales (admin reserve the righ to submit select pieces to the Featured Folder).

And please feel free to contact us with any questions, comments, or concerns
:new:  So as part of the prizes for our most recent contest- Fairytales Dreaming- each winner is given a feature blog in our group. :happybounce:

And so after a long wait here is our first Feature Blog:

:iconzwazoa: really impressed us with her entry into our contest- The Final Act… - whose unique interpretation of the classic Beauty and the Beast earned her third place

:happybounce: Elda is well respected DA artist whose style has become easily recognizable. Her sketch-style art is beautiful and telling in its intricacy to detail. Each piece is exquisite and reflects her passion for quality work. Some of her works include:

:bulletblue: Hortensia and Bear… A beautiful pencil sketch that is anything but simplistic. This is a wonderful example of Elda’s skill in taking a modest scene and building it up into something beyond most people’s imagination with only her pencil

:bulletorange: That One Please… This speaks to the bookworm in us all. This highly detailed piece gives the viewer a feeling of being at the scene, and of being encompassed with in the cozy study. The unique perspective makes it seem the woman will transcend the page, possibly reaching for a book behind you! :bookdiva:

:bulletgreen: A Girl and Her Seven Brothers… This is a fantastic representation of a well-known yet often disputed fairytale, the Seven Brothers (or Twelve Swans). Her merge between man and bird wonderfully reflects the tale, while the sorrow of the sister and anger of the brothers will evoke empathy in the most hardened hearts. A stunning balance of grief and hope! :juggle:

From her human studies to her adventures into the fantastical to her still life, there is bound to be something in her gallery that will capture your attention and draw you into her world.

So sit :couch:, browse her :gallery:, :+fav:, and :+devwatch: this fantastic artist

:boing: And be on the lookout for our second Feature Blog coming soon!

:pumpkin: PS. Happy Halloween!! :zombie:

Would you consider making 1 folder for the author "Oscar Wilde"? He has written some very good fairy tales; The Happy Prince, The Selfish Giant, The Nightingale and the Rose and many more. Thank you for your time.
